I recently upgraded form an old version of pro mepis (why I was using it I dont know as I'm not a developer) to simply mepis 3.3.1

I got the option to preserve all data in /home directory which I took. Everything went smoothly and I now have a working version of the OS. Only thing is I can't seem to find any of the files I had. It is as if I had done a clean install.

Can anyone clue me in as to where these files might be hiding or have I lost them all for good (need to work on my polgy speach to the musses :/

Do you know if you had a seperate partition for your /home?

If you did, then you will need to realign your fstab entry to point to your /home partition. If your /home drive was on the one partition with / , then............ I hope you have a back up.

Try as root

This will show you all partitions.

I did have a seperate partition and the files were all there obvious and right under my nose.
