Logint to MEPIS 8.0
 
I am reading the User's Guide on installation. I should select User: demo and click on install. I do not see the install option. I see two icons: Session Type (Default, KDE, Failsafe) and Menu (Switch User, Restart X Server,...). What can I do to install MEPIS 8.0 in a dual boot option. I will use a partition in a second new hard drive. In the other hard drive is running Windows XP in one partition.
I would appreciate your help!

The manual states:

Boot to the LiveCD, logging in as demo, and click on the MEPIS Install icon once you are looking at the desktop. When prompted for a password, enter root.
"Logging in as demo" means to enter demo as the user and the password of demo (as stated elsewhere in the manual) and then hit enter or the blue arrow.

Give it a few seconds, THEN you should be at the desktop, where you'll see the install icon.

The manual for the next version of MEPIS is under review, and I think it could be written a little clearer, so I'll make that suggestion.

About the dual boot, I'm no expert, so check out the MEPIS wiki or MEPISlovers forums for some basic info and free free to ask for help.

Thank you so much! I found a quick installation guide and did the job. Now am trying to set up the wireless internet connection and am having problems. I do everything and at the end I have two options but not the WL..
