Load Nexuiz

Anyone know how to load Nexuiz? It comes from the Nexuiz site as a zip file. (Or at least that is all I can find.) Maybe that is now supported, but I can't seem to get it to load. I suppose I can give it a location to extract all the files, but will it run if I do that? It works on Winderz, but I really want to see if it performs any different under my Mepis installation.

The .zip file appears to contain a mix of Windows, Mac & Linux files but no install instructions. I suggest you look into the forum on the website.

I have just discovered this game and can't believe how good it is for a free game! To run the game, unzip the nexuiz directory somewhere ( your home directory will do ). Then open a command line in that directory and type
Code:
./nexuiz-linux-x86-sdl
The game should now run.

I went ahead and just unzipped it somewhere. When I start it, I get a black screen with a few gray squares on it. A while back, I accidentally found a thread that mentioned the same thing. I believe that people said some cfg file tweaks would be needed. I have searched again for the thread, but have not found it. (And it also might have been on linuxquestions.org, I have read far too much and am far too disorganized.) But I will keep searching for it. If anyone knows that thread, don't be shy about pointing it out!

I also have downloaded the installer mentioned above. I think I may delete my current install and try with that, it sounds like some kind of manager (and it might help manage updates, although I am not sure yet). Anyway, I have played this on my Windows box, I want to see if there is any difference in Linux. I suspect my lag and choppiness are network related. (At least I guess so, I seem to consistently get around 100 fps.) Anyway, thank you for the replies thus far!!!
