Kernel Source not Found?

Hi, I've just installed Mepis and I really like what I see so far. The first major hiccup though is when I try to install my Sagem USB modem. I have two drivers, both of which worked faultlessly on Mandrake, Slack and Ubuntu, however when I do ./configure I get an error saying kernael source not found. I've looked in the synaptic package manager but according to that the kernel is installed.
Can anyone help?

Kernel Source not Found?

Hello,

Did you installed the package "kernel source". During installation, you have installed the kernel (of course !) but maybe, you didn't installed the sources.

I assume that's the problem you have.

good luck

OK I've searched for 'kernel source' on the synaptic manager but it doesn't give any results. Is there another way or are they called another name that a search may show up?
Thanks

Thanks for trying but it didn't help. I'm already using the 2.6 kernel and there is nothing in the /usr/src file that can be unzipped.
