Actually, I don't have a floppy drive, so my ability to help is limited. If my memory serves, you should be able to right click on your floppy drive and hit "format". The window that comes up should (again, from a distant memory) have a checkbox for "Make system disk". If not, go to your "add/remove programs" cp and look for an option there.

Ok, I'm going to play with that and the Smart Boot Disk and another thing called bootpart and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for all your help!! I'm now reporting to you from inside Mepis Linux!!! I used the Smart Boot Disk (finally got it installed) and reinstalled Mepis and it booted great, sound, internet, and all! I'm currently using Synaptic to install AmaroK!

Great news! Sorry your install didn't go as smooth as mine, but I was lucky enough to have an entire sencond drive to install to. Now we just have to fix your WINE and Shrink problem.

I've been working with Wine a little bit, Shrink runs but I haven't tried to mount anything and actually use it. SSMM will also be a challenge.

You really should have your Linux distro on one hard drive and your
Windows on another drive.
Of course the ideal situation is what i have done, that is have a
Windows computer and a Linux computer. As you can see i have a
Linux box with two distros on it. I also have a windows box with
Windows Me and XP on it. I use the Windows box to do all my DVD
copying and graphics work since i have accumulated many fine
programs over the years and can get things done very quickly.
My Linux box is my internet machine since it is much safer. That's
all i really need from it although i did copy a CD one time with Mepis.

Ideally that would be nice. As far as my situation goes I'm seriously considering using linux for all my computer needs except for video editing, which I will reserve for windows. One question, will running iTunes through Crossover Office allow me to buy music from the music store as well as burn cds?

you might be able to buy music, I doubt you would be able to burn a CD with iTunes.

Ok, thanks. What about using something like Photoshop or Image Ready with it, would they both work completely and be able to print or would they be limited as well?

Printing should work fine in CrossOver Office, I know that I can print w/o issues from Lotus Notes, Word, Excel. I don't know for sure about those programs since I don't use them.

I'm considering switching over to Mepis for all my computer needs except video editing but I want to be sure I can use all my apps that I need before I make the switch.
