Hi all,
I'm new to Linux (and specially to SimplyMEPIS). I tried the Live CD and it worked fine in my Athlon Sempron 2400 512MB DDR 400 80GB. It recognized every piece of hardware and I was able to connect to the web automatically. Samba was working fine too. I have cable-modem in another computer, using Windows XP (Athlon XP 2000, 512Mb DDR 400 80GB). Both computers are connected via a cross-over cable. The XP box acts as a gateway to the Internet. So after installing SimplyMepis 3.3.1 on my Sempron box and booting it from hard drive, my new linux box wasn't able to connect to the Internet, not even samba worked. Why didn't SimplyMepis install everything the way it was when i booted from Live CD?
What did I do wrong?

Well, how did you answer the questions when you installed it?

Did you enable PPP service or ISDN service?

Really, I don't remember what I answered but I think I chose the default values. How can I know which are the services and options that SimplyMepis choose automatically when I boot from CD? If there were a way to know that I would choose the same during installing.
