HowTo List Newly Installed Program

i downloaded the gcompris, childsplay and a few other games.

gcompris showed up under games. childsplay is nowhere to be found on the list of programs.

if i go console and type "childsplay" it starts.

how do i get a program so that it displays in the right category after clicking on kde's "K" in the lower left?

right click the K button and select menu editor or something like that. Then you can re-order, edit and create new menu entries.

nice! thank you. for newbies, you likely only have to type in the program name in the command box to open the program. if that doesn't work, you may have to find the path, type the path and then program name. name is just what you want to see in the menu. you can also drag and drop menu items to move them around.
