How to set the Qt theme gtk based applications run from the console?

Is there a way to set the Qt theme for gtk based application that are run from the console? Firefox, GIMP and Eclipse don't look nice when I run them from the console.

I got to face this problem when trying to run Eclipse 3.2.2 under SimplyMEPIS-64 6.5 and luckily I found the solution here: Eclipse 3.2.2 crashes on CentOS 4.4?.

What do you mean by "console"?

KDE's Konsole?
One of the Alt-Fn tty's? (unlikely)
Something else?

You know the bash shell under the KDE's Konsole.
