How to enable hibernating in Mepis 3.4.3

Hi! I have a Acer Aspire 3620 laptop. I immediately installed Mepis 3.4.3. I was able to resolve the battery meter. However, I want to enable hibernate just like in Windows and the scroll of my touch pad doesn't seem to work.. Any help?
