how to change default player in firefox
Hi,
I am using firefox to navigate and need to change the default player for movie ( I want kaffeine or realplayer ) instead of totem. I didn't find where to do it , ( i searched the preference).

I'm not sure how to do just that, but the MediaPlayer-Connectivity firefox extension can do that and more.
I love it

Are you talking about embedded players or just applications that open when a particular file is opened... If it is embedded (ie: plugin) then it would be a firefox issue but otherwise it is a file association issue not firefox...

I had the same problem when wanting to change to RealPlayer to watch embedded Internet clips (e.g. on the BBC website). Here is what I did.
Assuming you already have RealPlayer installed. I then simply uninstalled Firefox including it's dependencies, and then re-installed it. Firefox picked up my other settings again automatically (e.g. bookmarks) but this time my embedded media player is RealPlayer.
I'm not sure if this is the best method but it has worked for me!
