I have just installed Mepis 3.3 Linux and have downloaded the Americas Army file for Linux armyops250.run from the web. Being new to Linux I have no idea what the file type `run' stands for or how to install the program. When I click on the file it reads the file but dosn't install it. I would be very gratefull if someone could give me some advice.
Thanks
You need to make the file executable ($chmod +x somefile.run) and then to ececute the file you need to do "$sh somefile.run" or "$./somefile.run" from the directory that the file is located.
Thanks for that but I have no idea how I go about doing that? I am one of those poor sods who have lived with Windows all his life!! I am not famila with how Linux executes commands or where to do that from. Sorry but I need the baby version :-)
