Happy To See Mepis Join The Forums
I've wondered for a long time why Mepis hadn't joined these boards. Glad to see Warren and Co. finally present a presence here. It can't help but increase the popularity of an excellent distro.

Happy is an understatement, i'm elated.
I have in the past installed Red Hat, Mandrake, Lycoris, Suse, and Ark linux and i must say
Mepis is on a higher level than those distros. Mepis is unquestionably the EASIEST distro
to install and to use.
GREAT job Warren ! And i love the fact that it is MADE IN THE USA since i am proud to be an
American. Enough said.

The first part I agree with. Yes Warren has done a great job.
The fact that it is MADE IN THE USA is IMHO irrelevant. I couldn't care less where a distro is from or what the nationality of a distro developer is as long as it works for me. I use US Mepis, German Kanotix, and I have tried German SUSE, Czech SLAX, South African Ubuntu, British BLAG, Europen Union funded Demudi.
From an unpatriotic Brit living in Greece happily using products from anywhere in the world.

Lol. Okaaaay, its nice to be 'multi-cultural'!
I was wondering why Mepis wasnt on the forum too...its one of the top 10 on distrowatch after all. Mepis is one of the perfect distros for noobs, its one of those distros that are self sufficient, with firefox, OO.o and even Azureus fer cryin' out loud! all on one CD. really nice.

I too am glad to see MEPIS on this forum.
I've been using it since December 2004 and was amazed by it's hardware detection. I started Linux with Suse 9.1, and have tried many others, but MEPIS is (and will remain) my distro of choice.
