editing files on a windows disc
 
I have Mepis 6 installed on a dual boot with windows xp, i can view the files on the windows partition but can not write to the disc i usually get a message i don't have permission but i carnt seem to change the permission on the xp partition is this possible and how?

ntfs partitions are generally read only. the support for ntfs isnt very good.
If you want to, you could download the program from linux-ntfs.sf.net which enables ntfs read and write.
you will have a command ntfsmount after installing.
