Automatix does not work for debian, thats an ubuntu thing. 3.4 was based off of debian. The packages you require are w32codecs (or win32codecs) and libdvdcss

The following repos you can add to your sources.list
deb http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/debian sid main
deb-src http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/debian sid main
That will at least get you libdvdcss and i think they provide w32codecs as well
