In the current MEPIS release (6?), where is the MEPIS Config (OS Center) appplication that previous versions (I am thinking of 3.4) had? Getting the settings in MEPIS Config right was half of what I did to get my wireless network running (the other half was installing Ndiswrapper, of course), so without MEPIS config, I have no idea anymore how to start my wireless network.
I just installed 6.0 the other day. I'm not booted into it right now, but as I recall they put admin functions in KDE's control center under the Admin section. I can't remember what they called it, though. MEPIS tools or something.
Okay. I apologize for counter-flaming. That aside, you should not presume laziness when you don't know my situation. I installed Mepis 3.4 (or 3.3, whichever it was) last summer, and had ample time to figure out where the control panels &c were. I'm about to start another semester, and have more pressing things to do than fiddle with a superficially new operating system. So I have already given up on the current MEPIS and reverted to 3.4. Starting my network there is easy enough that I did it again from memory; there were hardly any steps to have written down.
The new network configuration tool is called mnetwork. These tools are now available from the "K" Kicker in the lower left of the desktop under System Settings. I think this is slightly easier for a new user but confusing if you are used to the old setup. I feel the devs could have made the changes more clear, but the new interface is easier to use.
