DCC Alliance

Is Mepis still a member of the DCC Alliance? I thought perhaps that may have changed with the decision to base the distro on Ubuntu instead of Debian.

I don't think it is. Ubuntu refused to be part of the DCCA so uses a completely different base to other members of the DCCA.

I also don't think that it is Warren (of Mepis) was a leader of that group, which was part of the reason that the Mepis 3.4 release took a while, but then he dropped out for some reason. Ubuntu is not DCC compliant, and so neither will be "SimplyMepis 6" unfortunately.

I think that Warren still produces the kernel for the DCC, but he felt that the DCC was not going in the direction the he had hoped it would. (whatever that means?!?)
