can I transfer MEPIS 3.x device configuration(s) to 6.x?
If I have a certain device configured correctly on the distro I'm running, but can't get the device to work on a new version of the same distro after installing it (possibly just because the new control panels and needed utilities are stumping me), can I solve the problem by simply transferring configuration files from the old version (if I saved them) to the new? What I have in mind is: I successfully got my wireless network working in MEPIS 3.x last summer, but haven't deciphered the different control panel settings in 6.x as regards the network. MEPIS is so easy that given enough time, I expect to have my network running eventually, but if I don't, can I fall back on its settings from 3.x as I suggested?
