I was instantly able to connect the Labtec WebCam to my Mepis system via the CamStream Utility. I have two problems yet to solve: How to connect the WebCam to the IMs, Yahoo and MSN that are supported through the Gaim Instant Messenger and where do the snapshots go on the disk to be stored when I take a snapshot????? I looked through all the usual places for the snapshots, but I couldn't find them.

I also tried to download the most recent messengers from Yahoo and MSN and they appear too exclusive to Windows programs that I could not even figure out how to download the MSN messenger. The Yahoo 8.1 wouldn't install!?!? Options for making the WebCam work with the IM program on the system???

You could try amsn from synaptic for your msn instant messenger. Webcam is supported but you may need to tweak it some. if you don't have a router it may be easier. If you have a router then you have to forward some ports. The amsn FAQ will help you get it going.
