6.5.00 is available
Apologies if this is posted elsewhere at LQ.
The title says it. 6.5 final is finally available. The tracker can be found at linuxtracker.org and pbay. 600 seeds for the 32 bit last I looked. The 64 bit is also available.
All the usual mepis live/install goodness and some nice new features. Come for the Beryl, stay for the distro.

Well paying for it is optional.
These links will get a tracker for bittorrent
http://linuxtracker.org/
or
http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3655076/...rs_%5BLinux%5D
One of the mirrors here should work for regular download
http://www.mepis.org/node/1462
Please consider bittorrent if possible, more seeders than leechers for the 64 so should be quick.
btw, over 3000 seeders for the 32 bit at the moment.

Mepis 6.5 ... WOW
Hi
used the linuxtracker bittorrent to download the new 6.5 final..worked really well...if your thinking of downloading 6.5 please use the bittorrent....and leave it on so others can benefit from your bandwidth...
Made an Iso with K3B and did a fresh install...absolutely everything was recognized during install...have a home network using a linksys router.... so far... it seems like everything was configured perfectly..including my HP printer attached to an old Mandrake setup using cups.
So far during initial testing everything is working just as my 6.0 did..but without any tweaking.
My congrats to arren and the whole Mepis team...you've really outdid yourselves...I'm really impressed.
P.S. using the 32 bit version....am wondering if those with 64 bit are equally as happy.
Tom

Hmmm.... This release has some problems but it is much easier to get working overall. However it is harder to get a minimal setup. Also it used Gparted instead of QT parted by default... lameness lol. Overall its great though.
