No sound

Hello.
I have no sound.
In every linux distro to be fair.
Except of Windows ofc.
The sound icon on the bottom right of my screen Appears muted.
On mouseover says “Not connected to the PulseAudio server”
If i click “Audio Mixer” opens a white window with the title “volume control” saying in the middle “Establishing connection to PulseAudio. Please wait…” and i could wait forever.
I tried some commands i found at the net…

[noob-pc ~]# pacmd list-cards
No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon.
[noob-pc ~]# pactl list cards
Connection failure: Connection refused
pa_context_connect() failed: Connection refused

I also uploaded my alsa file if it is of any use https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Ww...9ccbs2pUs5o0An

Yeah...i had not.
It works now but the sound is extremely distorted.
Here's the output:

P.S. I'm using the "Family 17h (Models 00h-0fh) HD Audio Controller" not the HDMI/DP outputs.
P.S. I found out that the headphones jack works just fine it's just the rear output that makes that extremely scratching sound ?!?!

since you're the one with the problem, i think it's only fair that you sift through it, not me.
but i did notice the very first line: "main.c: This program is not intended to be run as root".
so, don't do that.

This, below, problem could be solved on slackware by launching rc.pulseaudio

Quote:
No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon.
something like this:-

Code:
su root -c "/etc/rc.d/rc.pulseaudio start"

Your Motherboard Audio device ALC1220 is reported to work well with a recent kernel

Your ALSA information shows Kernel 4.14.74
Manjaro is currently on 4.14.87 kernel, so you need to update your system first

A more recent kernel will have better support for Ryzen
suggest use Manjaro Settings Manager to add latest kernel 4.19.8
(don't need to remove other kernel, can keep it as a backup)

ALSA information also shows master level for audio device turned down:
Code:
Playback 60 [69%] [-20.25dB]
If audio is distorted, it is likely volume level is set over 100% in Pulseaudio
but reduced volume in ALSA keeps it from being too loud

Suggest turn down audio in Pulseaudio Volume Control first
then go to:
Code:
 alsamixer --card 1 --view Playback
and turn Master level up
