I boot up login and my mouse woks as it is suppose to, then after I am logged in it stops working completely after a very short amount of time. I know it is not the mouse or my laptop because I eventually booted into Slackware and it works perfectly like it is suppose to. but everything is setup in Manjaro so I am having to stay in here to do what I am trying to do.
it is a sometimes it works then sometimes it does not .. then it does then it doesn't cycle
this is sysD so I don't know anything about the processes that might be stopping the mouse from working after it was. unplugging it then plugging it back in does not work.
edit:
Oh yeah, I am using XFCE4 desktop, currently installing windowmaker to see if it too will have conflicts or not.
edit 2
well trying to use another desktop ?WM did not work so it defiantly is something with the base system

What kind of mouse (wired? Wireless with dongle or bluetooth?), and is there anything in dmesg or the system logs? You've eliminated the hardware and the desktop WM, so you're right, it is pointing back to the OS. What version of Manjaro? Any updates recently?
If you have a different mouse, it might be a good idea to give it a try just to rule out with certainty that it's not the mouse. And, building on what teckk said, try a different USB port if you have one available.

been there done that. went and got a wireless mouse and it was sticking too so I took it back. and usb ports thing tried that too. this mouse was seemingly working okay as I added a make shift mouse pad . piece of cardboard because it is one a mouse with a tail aka plugin, and no balls aka optical so I figured it maybe the table I am using it on. nevertheless it seemed to be working and yesterday I seen this reply and today I was planing on answering it then my mouse stopped working again // go figure, and I am completely not accustom to using a touchpad.
so yeah It is actually down to usb ports or system, but then again I have to bounce into Slackware to see if the mouse will just work as intended and the possibilities it pretty goood that it will work so that takes me back to the OS Manjaro and system D - again I am not accustom to dealing with it, mount -a does not even work on system D . but that is a learning curve and something non related to this issue.
SO yeah, Now I am in Slackware and my mouse that plugs into a usb port is not having any issues , now I am going back into Manjaro.
oh and btw the little light on the bottom of the mouse does not even come on in Manjaro, and it seems to be taking longer to get from the login screen to the desktop to be fully working xfce4 it sits for a moment before loading everything up in the desktop.

I'd suspect the HID driver.
It's wired, and it is down to the system Manjaro as in slack it works. in manjaro booting up to the login screen it mostly will work until I log in then it starts sticking then stops working. today when I planed on ansering this post it just stopped working completely and as I am in slackware right now the mose is working fine.
this is a Lenovo ideapad 330s (arr15) laptop multiboot, if you want to know the hardware just google lenovo 330s aar15. my first and last lenovo and AMD HW system.

on the end of all of that it says it sees the usb mouse but the light for its optical eye is not even on, little red light on the bottom of the mouse, id I go into slack then it works as needed, suppose to.
I don't see anything saying it is disabling it or putting it to sleep . today, it just does not even work at all
system D so I am clueless just getting this off another post in here link to page.
it went beyon 0 and 1 . so I have to find out what does 2 mean.

something is wrong with the system (?) because Slackware sees the mouse and does not have this issue, I'd have to reboot into slack to see what it says
I boot up login and my mouse woks as it is suppose to, then after I am logged in it stops working completely after a very short amount of time. I know it is not the mouse or my laptop because I eventually booted into Slackware and it works perfectly like it is suppose to. but everything is setup in Manjaro so I am having to stay in here to do what I am trying to do.

this is sysD so I don't know anything about the processes that might be stopping the mouse from working after it was. unplugging it then plugging it back in does not work.
edit:
Oh yeah, I am using XFCE4 desktop, currently installing windowmaker to see if it too will have conflicts or not.
edit 2
well trying to use another desktop ?WM did not work so it defiantly is something with the base system
xinput allows to suppress the mouse for intance and do many more .
