Xserver multiple display classical question

hello all!

I installed Mandrake 10.1 on my Toshiba M30x S111 laptop, installation was pretty smooth and runs very nicely.
My major concern right now is to configure the Xservers file to allow another person to log on without terminating my X session. ( i knw lot of ppl have done this and have instructions on how to do it but i am too dumb too understand)

Here is how my X servers file looks like .....

# $XConsortium: Xserv.ws.cpp,v 1.3 93/09/28 14:30:30 gildea Exp $
#
#
# $XFree86: xc/programs/xdm/config/Xserv.ws.cpp,v 1.1.1.1.12.2 1998/10/04 15:23:14 hohndel Exp $
#
# Xservers file, workstation prototype
#
# This file should contain an entry to start the server on the
# local display; if you have more than one display (not screen),
# you can add entries to the list (one per line). If you also
# have some X terminals connected which do not support XDMCP,
# you can add them here as well. Each X terminal line should
# look like:
# XTerminalName:0 foreign
#
:0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X -deferglyphs 16
:1 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X :1 vt8 -deferglyphs 16 I REMOVED THE RESERVE OPTION
:2 local reserve /usr/X11R6/bin/X :2 vt9 -deferglyphs 16
:3 local reserve /usr/X11R6/bin/X :3 vt10 -deferglyphs 16
:4 local reserve /usr/X11R6/bin/X :4 vt11 -deferglyphs 16
:5 local reserve /usr/X11R6/bin/X :5 vt12 -deferglyphs 16

but i am not able to log in as another user , infact whn i do ctrl+alt+f2, the xserver crashes.
is it necessary to boot into X? i start X manually.

I do have another problem, if u have had the patience to read this far and are still willing to help !

I have a cable connection at home, but everytime i boot i have to run hardrake to configure my ethernet, does not work without that. is there anything thts not happening at the boot time?

thts all for now, thanks for ur support.

Regards,
Anup.

You'll need to set up KDM or MDKKDM to do this.

When you start X manually, you are basically lauching one login session.

(Yes you experienced types, I KNOW there are other ways to do this...)
