XMMS Install in Mandrake 10.1

Well I download xmms and have tried to install but ./configure seems to not find the usr/lib/*.* files require, I went so far as to download gtk 2.6 and still I'm have problems with it. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks,

XMMS use gtk 1.x and not 2.x. Try installing beep media player, if you are not successful in installing xmms. It's based on xmms, but uses GTK2.

Oh, by the way, why not use Mandrake rpms of XMMS that are on the installation disks or available through urpmi?
