Exclamation xmms-1.2.10

is impossible tu use xmms-1.2.10 with glib-2.6.2?
i can install gtk but when i trie to install xmms:
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.2... no
*** The glib-config script installed by GLIB could not be found
*** If GLIB was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GLIB_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to glib-config.
configure: error: *** GLIB >= 1.2.2 not installed - please install first ***

i read on this forum that i have to use glib 1.2.10 but is possible to use this version of glib with glib-2.6.2? i dont know what to do :|

check out if you have the development package of glib installed, namely, glib-devel... .rpm.

GLIB 1.x and GLIB 2.x are incompatible, XMMS using GTK1, so you will need GLIB 1.x and its devel package installed to compile it.

You can have both installed at the same time.

migu what distro are you using. If you are using an rpm based distro and your system says they are installed, then you need the development packages which would be named something like glib-1.x-devel and gtk+-1.x-devel (this varies with the distro you are using). And yes as mentioned above gtk 1 and 2 and glib 1 and 2 can coexist onone system.
