wvdial.. i cant get my modem to work?
 

RH9 has wvdial, i was able to get my modem working with that in less than a minute.

since i have switched to mandrake i have not needed a modem. But I need to use one now. How can i get it to work? this is an external modem connected via serial port. (it works fine.. and has worked under RH9)

any ideas what to try? I cant figure anything out?

See if you have wvdialconfig available:
man wvdialconfig

Nice links jailbait. I had been running wvdial as root from the cli on a limited basis
with lynxs just as a learning exercise. I knew it wasn't good practice and the first
link answers a lot of questions for me.
