Wirless Network Card Problem -- Please help!

I have a HP Pavilion ze4805 Laptop and I am having tons of troubles getting the wirless network card to work with Mandrake 10. I noticed that it isn't in the list of drivers that come with Mandrake 10 when I went to "add a new connection" and selected wireless connection. I was told about a program called ndiswrapper that i could use to install my windows driver. Unfortunately when I went to install it, it gave me an error ... here's exactly what happened ...

storm@localhost ndiswrapper-0.10]$ make install
make -C driver install
make[1]: Entering directory '/home/storm/ndiswrapper-0.10/driver'
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.3-7mdk/build SUBDIRS=/home/storm/ndiswrapper-0.10/driver
\
NDISWRAPPER_VERSION=0.10 \
EXTRA_VERSION=modules
make[2]:Entering directory '/usr/src/linux-2.6.3-7mdk'
CC scripts/empty.o
Assembler messages:
FATAL: can't create scripts/.tmp_empty.o: Permission denied
make[3]: *** [scripts/empty.o] Error 2
make[2]: *** [scripts] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/linux-2.6.3-7mdk'
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/storm/ndiswrapper-0.10/driver'
make: *** [install] Error 2

Does anyone know why I would be getting this error .... or know a better way that I can get my wireless card to work? The driver I need is bcm43xx I believe ... there are a few of them that are close to that in the options in Mandrake but none of them work ... any help with this would soooo greatly be appreciated!

./configure and make can (and usually should) be run as your normal user. To do the final step do:
Code:
su
type in root password
#make install
The above errors come because your normal user can't write to those folders.
