window id, gnome-like desktop when show icons disabled (KDE, 2005 LE) + root-tail
Hello,
Trying to have root-tail to work under mandriva 2005 LE prooved to be a problem (see http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=383461 Anyway, my question here is different, What does your desktops (1&2) look like when you select the option to disable showing the icons on the desktops? On my PC, one of the desktop revert to some weird gnome-like theme and icons are still there although very much bigger and using different picture for them, but this happens on only one desktop. Ok a bit of cross-posting, how do you make root-tail work under mandriva 2005 LE then? (PS: Last thing I can think of to try is root-tail with another user than my normal user or root) |
edit: SOLVED
$ ls -l .kde/share/config/ksmserverrc this was were the problem was incl bogus things such as program1=kwin program2=nautilus program3=evolution-alarm-notify program4=kmix My kde profile is still corrupted (no sound after kdm login), but now root-tail works !! :-) Right, I tried another user, and the desktops are fine if I disable the show icons option. My desktop profile is gone stupid: I run kde only. one desktop is KDE like, even once I disable the icons. the other desktop is gnome like (the right hand click is a gnome menu, and the kde icons disapear, but some gnome icons appear) Weird. Will try to fix this up, although I do not know which file to tackle Maybe in .kde? but which one... |
