Why I have to reconfigure my keyboard every boot?

I'm using Mandriva Free 2009.1 in a Lenovo 3000 N200. Everything works fine, but the keyboard have to be configured every boot by means of MCC. I use Brazilian lay-out with Thinkpad configuration and the key [/?°] doesn't work until I go to MCC and confirm the previous configuration.

In the Brazilian forum of Mandriva another guy has the same problem and nobody the solution.

In the same machine I have Mandriva 2008.1 and all is working fine.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Check if the issue has been reported (bug report) on Mandriva's Bugzilla. If it has not, make a bug report. If it has been reported, add any information you can. Reporting issues such as what you experience is the best way to make sure Mandriva works as expected for you. Mandriva wants their distribution to be as near perfect as possible, but the only way that can happen is if the user community provide useful feedback when things do not work correctly.

HTH,

ernie, thanks a lot!

I'll do that as soon as I could understand why this is occurring. I don't know if it is a bug related with my notebook hardware or is a bug related with KDE.

In the weekend I'll do a new installation with Gnome to see if the symptoms disappear.

The solution was:

Do the configuration in the rigth place.

Configure your Desktop -> Regional & Language -> Keyboard Layout -> Keyboard Model and choose the "Thinkpad" model.
