i just installed mandrake 9.2 but when i went to configure my kernel /usr/src/linux wasn't there and so i thought that maby the source was not installed so i checked what packages i had installed though the mandrake package installere and installed all kernel stuff to make sure but it is still not there
is there a /usr/src/linux-(version)
or is there anything there?
you didn't install the kernel headers, or mandrake decided to install them somewhere else, which i never heard of, most likely it's either not installed or not linked to linux folder...
it may not be on the main drake cd, it may an additional disk...
The rpm you want to look for is probably called kernel-source-2.4.22-10mkd.i586.rpm. That is probably the version of kernel that you have installed. You can type in the command uname -r to make sure. I think it should be on the second disk. If you installed from a cover disk, such as Linux Format magazine, then this file may not be present. In that case you will need to download it from an ftp site, such as ftp://sluglug.ucsc.edu/pub/Mandrake/9.2.
Distribution: Mandrake 9.2 =<3 and Red Hat 8.0 (server)

yeah, I heard mandrake made a mistake with not including the kernel source in the first releases of 9.2, I have it and I downloaded like beginning of decemer-ish.
