LOL, This is why I don't uninstall windows!!

1 - I've lost gzip (or wattever program handels tar.gz files) IT JUST DISAPEARD

2 - Konqueror has gone too. IT'S F...IN gone!!!

installed som software but nothing that should affect these programs.
I DEEPLY deeply want to smash my keyboard in frustration. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh hh

Any suggestion, I don't have time to write an extended explenation cause I'm off for work soon

tried too google for " tar.gz + manager + download" and som others but couldn't find anything
relative to my problem. And THATS typical for linux.

just anyone give me a link, and I'll look for it tomorrow. and probaply apollagie (or how you write it)

i dont think it's typical of linux at all... i think it's more the end user... just like in windows

since you cannot tell us what you installed, how you installed it - well then we cant answer your question... but try looking under your bed, maybe they're hiding there or something.

He he I've calmed down..

I did install urpmi.. maybe that's what messed it up. Anyway I ran mandrake update, and conquror came back but the default cd burning app. dissapeard

Also I got this " this is not a csv" something when I tried to open "home" catalouge before update

And now after the update a lot of the apps in the menue is not there anymore. even more apps disappeard before I did an update.. Now what is that all about??

Sorry for my tempered thread!!
Thanks for a good answer from equinox

Gonna do an old windows trick and Format and reinstall Mandrake again. LOL

I hate beeing such a noob.. But from nowon I guess I'll have to read more threads..

Have a good weekend everyone (especially you equinox )

p.s. didn't find the programs under my bed, gonna look in the fridge..
