where can i get kernel-source on mandriva 2007
 
cant find kernel sources for 2.6.17-5mdv. they dont seem to be on any of the disks and im not real sure where to look on line.

The package manager should find this for you, if you have it set up to find online files. If you don't have it so set up, ask it to set itself up. The sources are available on all the up to date repository mirrors which are all over the world.

The current Mandriva kernel is kernel-2.6.17-14mdv. If you need guidance configuring the Mandriva Package Manager and urpmi to use the Internet Software Media Sources, the easiest way I know of is to follow the direction at Easy URPMI. I have written an article intended to provide additional information on my blog.
