Question Where's the windows fonts?

OK,

So when I last did an install of 9.1, as usual, one of the first things I did was to copy the windows fonts from my windows install to my mandrake install. I did this using drakfont in the MCC.

In former installs of mandrake I have done the same, but using the msttcorefonts and cabextract files.

Since then, I have started to get adventureous, and I'm now triple booting mandrake 9.1, XP and Debian "Sarge".

I have set things up, so the mandrake can see the debian, and the debian can see the mandrake.

I now want to copy the windows fonts (well, only some of them i.e. the ones that aren't in the msttcorefonts package) from mandrake 9.1 to the debian sarge, but,

No matter where I look, I can't find the file or directory that contains the actual font files. I can't just copy them from windows as my windows install is formatted as NTFS, so the obvious answer is copy them across - but I can only do this if I can find the elusive little buggers.

So, does anyone have any idea where mandrake hide them when they have been copied using drakfont ???

regards

John

You can copy from the NTFS partition. Linux can READ NTFS just fine. How do you think Mandrake did it?

All you have to do to install fonts in linux is:

copy the fonts to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/
run (as root): fc-cache
