What version of x86 or xorg?

I'm trying to d/l drivers for my ATI video card, but I need to know what version of X86 or XORG that I'm using since there are different downloads for different versions. How do I go about to find the version. I already tried using a utility by ati that says it will tell me what version i have, but anytime I run it in a console window it says I'm either not running it in a console or i dont have console ownership. I even tried this as root user and the same thing.

How do I check what version i have so i can download the drivers.

If you are running Mandrake 10.1 and haven't upgraded, then you are running 6.7.

Next time you want to check a version of an installed package on rpm based distros, you can do something like,
#rpm -qa | grep -i packagename (e.g. xorg)
If you haven't yet installed it, you can check for package version on the distros website or ftp mirrors.
