you know i do find it odd with people having never heard of 386's and such.... i386 = intel 386 cpu's (and equivs) and newer, i586 = intel 586 cpu's (and equivs) and newer. basically the 386 is compiled to run on a wider range of systems than the 586 ones but at the expense of possible performance and waste of features on newer cpu's.
