What is Mandrake 9.1's default firewall?

I have Mandrake 9.1.
I want to run ssh on port 443.
When I add 443/tcp to the "advanced" settings in "Mandrake Control Centre/Security/Firewall" the setting doesn't stick. i.e., when I re-visit the dialog, the new 443/tcp entry is missing.

Doesn't happen with other ports, strangely. I don't know why this is.

...So, I'd like to investigate the config files that this GUI is operating on, but I don't know what they are:

Does mandrake ship with shorewall? bastille? iptables? something else?

Any insight gratefully received

You don't need a firewall if your internet connection is connected to a router, because most routers already come with built-in firewalls. Otherwise, I can't help you.

Well I disabled Mandrake's firewall and have solved my problem. I feel a little nervous though - what about the 4 ports that I have opened (for whatever reason) on my router? Couldn't someone just come in through one of those?

Is it really still secure?
