what does this mean in my syslog?

My whole syslog is full of these messages - what are they?

Are they just logs of my activity on the internet?

I use a speedtouch modem

May 31 12:25:14 localhost kernel: DROPPED IN=ppp0 OUT= MAC= SRC=an ip address DST=another ip address LEN=48 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=112 ID=16711 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=1586 DPT=2935 SEQ=2547691853 ACK=0 WINDOW=64240 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 OPT (020405B401010402)

Some are worms smashing on your firewall, some others ("from" in 192.168.x.x) are pings from your isp. However, neither is dangerous, unless there are several per second.

when you say "worms crashing" - do you mean someone trying to access my machine?

Those are just messages outputted from an iptables firewall running in the kernel. Nothing to be worried about, pretty standard.
