I'm trying to get the latest version of Kopete installed, having a strange problem with it though.
It configures and makes without a single problem.
I type make install as root, and off it goes. I get dumped back at a root prompt with no error messages, and no other problems, but Kopete doesn't seem to have installed on the system.

In the install instructions it states that: By default, `make install' will install the package's files in `/usr/local/bin'

They're not there. I didn't pass any options to the installer, I left everything as default.
Doing a 'whereis' only gives me the Kopete that came with Mandrake when I installed - a 'locate' lists nothing in /usr/local/bin.
It appears as if the 'make install' command just isn't working.
Any suggestions?
