How install Webcam in Dell SP2208WFP, in Mandriva Linux 2007?

So I imagine it uses a USB cable to hook up the webcam to the PC ?

Why don't you do lsusb and post the oputput here so we can see what Chip the webcam is using...

I have the same monitor and have been trying to figure this one out also.

here is the device ID I get from lsusb:
ID 05a9:2643 OmniVision Technologies, Inc.

I checked UVCVideo and they do not support this but they do support
05a9:2640 OmniVision OV2640 (Dell Inspiron 1420/1720 notebooks)

I installed UVC according to their instructions anyway and ran v4l-info but all i get is:
open /dev/video0: No such file or directory


Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go next?
