Its interesting that you mention the kded error messages. As I was working with the VNC server, after a while I would find the kded process running at 99%. I would kill the task, then it would appear again a bit later. A re-boot, without running vnc seemed to fix the problem.??? very weird!

Since I stopped working with VNC, I have not had any problems.
