VMWare messed up my sound

Last time i tried running VMWare, it froze my whole computer, and i had to manually switch my computer off, then back on. When i turned it back on, mandrake went through the forced error checking for the drive, and i selected yes to fix the errors. now my sound wont work, and vmware says i need to run the config file. when i run it, it does goes through everything, and says everything is ok, but then i try to run vmware again, and it gives me the message telling me to runt he config again.... linux is not being my friend today
