using konstruct (before I begin)
I currently have mdk 9.2 with kde-3.1.3 installed (from the dist CDs).
I'm about to use konstruct to install kde-3.2 (just released).
I have a partition image backup of my whole mdk disk so I'm not worried about screwing up and starting again too much.
What I want to do is basically use 3.2 instead of 3.1.3. I will be backing up my settings for gkrellm, apollon etc so I'm not too fussed either about losing my .kde dir.
My question is about the paths that need to be set in the konstruct settings. The defaults are given as
prefix ?= $(HOME)/kde3.2
however this would install the whole kde apps to my home dir. What would be the best way to 'overwrite' my existing installation? Or should I remove the 3.1.3 RPMS?
Any experiences from others would be great, thanks...
Aus.
This is particularly a Mandrake question as to where is KDE installed by default during standard installation?
