Arrow Using extra keyboard buttons?

I just got a new keyboard with lots of extra buttons for launching office apps and common browser functions such as back forward, scroll etc. It came with a Windows driver but not a Linux one.
Most of the buttons seem to be set-up already under keyboard shortcuts but the scroll pad doesn't work and I can't figure out which setting it is. Can anyone help? Thanks.
