usb unload problem with Mandrake 10
Hi
I have recently installed MDK 10 to take advantage of the ALSA 1.x driver. I have previously used MDK 9.2 with a MidiSport 4x4 usb device to connect a midi keyboard with no problems. MDK 10 also has no problem recognising the usb device but when I unplug the usb device (Yamaha EZ-250i and Midisport 4x4) there is a message in the var/log/message file saying that the device had been disconnected but the /dev/snd/midixxxx device is never released. Plugging the midiSport back in does nothing and trying to access the /dev/snd/midixxxx gives an open error The net result of this is that Mandrake won't shutdown, hanging at the ALSA step and I have to hardboot the machine. Is it true that some versions of the 2.6 kernel has problems with unloading usb devices and could this be related? Thanks O |
