If you're using 10.1, you can set this modem up using Mandrake Control Center -> Network -> New Connection. Just select ADSL, it should pick up the Sagem modem. Here in the UK, the protocol required is PPPoA.
If you're running an older version of Mandrake, it's possible the modem might not work - if it's one of the 'E2T' variants (look on the base of the product), the drivers supplied with Mandrake need later firmware.. Post back for further advice if this is the case.

Thanks
Thanks kevinatkins but i have tried that and nothing happens. This SAGEM800 fast modem is supposed to be linux compatible but configuration that way doesn't work. But also Kppp needs to be configured with the selected usb port but I have tried then all.I think the modem must be a software modem.
Thanks
Dave

Hi,
OK. Which version of Mandrake (Mandriva?) are you running?
The Fast 800 is Linux compatible - it's what I use to get online (with Tiscali).. But you don't need to go near kppp - it isn't a normal dial-up device. It might be worth checking this website -
Eagle USB Project
Unfortunately, much of the site is in French, but it's the home of the Linux drivers for the Fast 800 modem.

Hi,
See you're using 10.1 - double check setting up from Mandrake Control Centre - you need to choose 'ADSL Connection', not 'Modem Connection' in the 'Network & Internet' section - it's much easier to set up using the Mandrake-supplied drivers than building them yourself. You will need your installation media - PPPoA will need to be installed, but the installer will walk you through it.
