urpmi uses what ports?
I am unable to perform urpmi updates! I believe my ISP might be blocking the port urpmi uses to respond to my requests. Does anyone know what port urpmi uses?

Yeah as he said.
You could try connecting to the repositories directly via ftp in a browser or via http.
Worst case try an ftp client to verify your connectivity.

All this is great and I have tried all of that. No, I cannot connect in any way I have found as of yet. You do not want me to list all the ways I have tried, not enough space here. I just found a posting on a Mandrake forum that discusses firewall ports and which ones to open and so forth. I would still like to have someone confirm the firewall ports that are involved with urpmi updates.

You probably have a Linux firewall installed, such as shorewall, which is disabling FTP access.
If your FTP clients cannot connect, then the problem is normally local.
Linux uses standard FTP and HTTP ports for the urpmi connections.

Waiting on new hardware
My ISP and I have determined that the router/modem (supplied by the ISP) is not functioning correctly and will be replaced. This will take a few days.

Great that you got it resolved.
Your router then was blocking the ports.
If so this behaviour would also occur under Windows too.
Under Windows you also would not be able to download or browse FTP sites.
(Ports 21 & 20)
