urpmi shell command and cheap place to buy mandrake 10 power pack

hi
just installed madrake official 10, was using 10.1, but wanted something stable. i have used the urpmi command as root to install these packages-

bit torrent
xine
xmms

the urpmi commmand is great and just wonder if someone could tell me about it. makes it very easy to install.

also, any cheap place to buy powerpack 10 . wallmart has it for $52 plus shipping and taxes. thinking this might be hard to beat.

First see: http://www.zebulon.org.uk/

Set up the URPMI sources as indicated.

Voila, everything on the powerpack is available to you except those package demos and programs that you would otherwise have to pay for.

If you set up the PLF sources you'll also get programs which cannot be included on the powerpack such as the libraries to view encrypted DVD's in Linux.

Once you have set up the sources click on "Install Software" to bring up the urpmi gui.

You'll have a rather amazing assortment of great software available to you.

Helpful URL

Here is a page on my site that explains Urpmi and Rpm quite well. It should help you understand it a bit better and how to use it.

Hope that helps you out a bit.

Read the previous messages.

Once you have a running system with any form of Internet connectivity, you do NOT need any disks.

You merely need to set up the URPMI sources as indicated.

Thereafter everything is handled by urpmi.
