Urgent! After installed 10.0
 

i have installed mandrake linux 10.0 from CDs(download verion),
and everything is ok.
i can get in to the X window.
In LILO, i also can find window....
but when i choose window,
it just show a dark screen and "_"blinking and cant get in window xp.

i have one window xp and one mandrake linux 10.0 in my hand disk
i just have three partitions
one for window xp(hda1), one for linux / (hda5), and one for linux swap(hda6)


another probelm
i cant start the control center and mozilla in the linux,
do not have any error msg,
after click it, and load it, nothing happen.....

can any one help me???plz!!!!!!!....................

for apps that don't launch from the menu try launching them from the command line
eg: type

mozilla

on the command line you get error messages scrolling past so you can see what the problem is.

There are posts on this site regarding the XP boot problem. (It's not a problem I have come across.)

It sounds like the boot loader isn't configured properly... One quick way to fix your issue might be to boot into Mandrake, go into configure my computer and try using the auto-tools to set up grub. What might happen (and I've seen happen in the past, although not with 10) is that Mandrake will fix itself when reconfiguring the new boot loader.

Off-hand I'm not 100% sure of how to flip from lilo to grub though...

Also, you might want to consider a more accurate title. I tend to overlook posts where I can't see the specific issue just by reading the title ;)

Can you post the contents of /etc/lilo.conf?

I had the same type of problem when I installed Mandrake-10.0. For some reason lilo had added another windows boot on hdb and made my original hda1 windows old_windows, maybe shoot for something like that.
