I chose an "Upgrade" installation to upgrade from 10.1 to 10.2, and I didn't get any errors, but a bit of stuff was screwed up after the update. I think what happens is that it can't write over some of the already installed libraries, so you end up with bits and pieces of 10.1 that can't be updated. Thankfully, I backed up all my files, so I decided just to install 10.2 from scratch, and see if it was any better, and everything was fine. I'd try that.

RPM is designed not to ovrwrite config files, so anything messed up after an upgrade is usually due to rpmtrying to save your config files. A clean install is usually better than an upgrade (if its an option).

boxerboy if key packages have not been installed or upgraded, then you may have problems later, try running the upgrade again. Also make sure that your installation media is not corrupt.
