unable to parse!!!!!
 

hi,
i'm using mdk9.1, the problem is that whenever i try to connect using gaim(MSN PROTOCOL) it gives me a connection error "singon error: unable to parse message", it was working fine with my redhat9 machine but since i'm using mdk9.1 i'm gettin this err. i've tried all versions of gaim (0.63 - 0.68) and all are giving me same error.

Note: the error comes after sending my password and i've also tried some of my other accounts of msn too.

I read a couple weeks ago that MSN was going to do something to block third party clients from connecting to MSNIM for "security reasons." (cue snickers from crowd) My guess is that they are trying to force people to use their client for other reasons, but that's something i won't get into.

Long story short is that I think you're out of luck for MSN, at least for awhile. (anyone else remember when AOL tried to do this?)

Can you log on to other IM's? If so, I'd suggest that you persuade your friends to jump ship and get AIM, ICQ, or YIM.
