Unable To Connect Net
 

I download MD 10.1 Official(Disk one only)
I know my IP,NetMask,Default Gateway & DNS Address
I used those address in MCC internet connection .
On logging it showed my the network icon at the right bottom.
It also show some speed also.
But I am unable to do update or use internet.
Can someone please tell me Y is this happening
Also I am unable to see an option in the boot menu for logging in as root.
what should I do?

is there a proxy in there anywhere ?

why do you want to login as root
if you need to configure your computer
most tools require a root password
